This tool allows you set up a URL that accepts file uploads via HTTP PUT and upload each file to your Dropbox folder.

How does it work?

  1. Click this link to start the setup process
  2. You will be redirected to Dropbox and you will be asked to authorize this app, so that it can write files in its own folder in your Dropbox
  3. The app will give you a URL that includes a random ID
  4. Execute a HTTP PUT or POST to https://putdrop.levs.tools/upload/xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx/recording.wav with the file contents in the body
  5. Your file will end up in your Dropbox as Apps/putdrop.levs.tools/YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS_recording.wav

What can this be used for?

Some apps that produce files (e.g. recordings), don't have the capability to upload files directly to Dropbox, but allow you to configure a URL so that it can upload files via HTTP PUT or POST. This tool acts as an adapter between such an app and Dropbox.

How much does it cost?

It's available to anyone for free.

Do you store my files?

No, the files go directly into your Dropbox, they are never saved to disk.

Can you access my files in my Dropbox?

No, this tool will only have access to its own folder (Apps/putdrop.levs.tools), not your entire Dropbox folder.

What's the catch?

This tool is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, and may be discontinued at any time without notice.
